There is no good title for this post

It's been longer than I thought it had since I last posted. Today, being the 5th of February, I could get my drivers permit. However, since I haven't studied at all for the test, it will not be happening today. Hopefully by next week, though, I will get my permit.

I have been in a weird mood lately. I guess part of it is that I have had 20,000 things running through my brain all at the same time. It does things to you to have too many things to think about. Mostly, the things have no immediate effect, and won't have any effect for several months, so a lot of it is not necessary. I guess I will have to try to calm my thoughts down a bit.

I'm excited for tomorrow, one of the girls in my history class is having a Gone with the Wind watch party. I did watch it last week (for the first time) but hey, who wants to miss a party? It will be the first time that I've seen any of the people outside of class, so it might be a little strange, but it should be lots of fun.

School is going to drive me crazy. I am sick of algebra. I am sort of behind too, so I have to do as much as possible. My biggest problem is that sometimes I don't understand what they are trying to tell me. I then miss a lot of the problems and my grade goes down. Sometimes it takes me a week of working on it to finally understand what they are talking about. Biology is frustrating too, but I'm just tired of doing it. Thankfully I understand it.

I am going to be so sad when Jc graduates. She has been visiting collages and applying for scholarships and filling out applications. Thankfully, all the collages she's looked at are within an hour and a half driving time, so she will get to visit often.

The Week So Far

So, I wished for snow and it came! It snowed for quite a while this afternoon, but only stuck a little. Oh well, maybe more is on the way!

I have a story to tell. *Disclaimer: It is not recommended to eat anytime soon before, after or while reading this story.* Yesterday (Monday) Dad was taking me to history class. On the way there was a dead squirrel in the road. Well, Dad hit said squirrel and it splattered all over the car! It was probably the nastiest thing I have ever witnessed. Be glad you didn't have to ride in the car splattered with squirrel guts!

Other than that, it has been a good week so far. We had a party in History class and we had enough food for 3 times as many people. After eating, we played Mafia for a while and then played a game that is essentially I Never. We had 17 students so it was a lot of fun. I am glad to be done with class for the semester but I will miss seeing the people.

Tonight we had the last choir sectionals as our concert is in exactly one week. There were only 2 sopranos and about 8 altos but we sang through all our songs anyways. I think we are ready for concert, we at least don't sound too awful. Last spring we did quite bad at concert. I think that was partly due to all the dancers having to miss choir and all the solos and simply having too much music. I hope we do much better this year.

Well, it has been a miserable week for me. I was sick with a cold last Sunday-Wednesday and then got something with similar symptoms to the Flu early Saturday morning. I had left for a youth retreat Friday night and felt just fine but Saturday I woke up with an awful cramp, mainly in my shoulder. I ended up leaving early and the rest of the day and through late Sunday night I was really sick with a pretty high fever. However, I woke up feeling a lot better this morning.

Tomorrow we have a big choir concert with several other public school choirs. Supposedly there will be around 400 to 450 people singing! It should be fun just because of sheer numbers. But I also like most of the songs. There is one that uses the words from one of JFK's speeches that I don't like, simply because I don't like the words. Also because there is a part where the choir sings "Let the Word go forth" 18 times in a row, it gets really creepy sounding after about the 5th time. I am singing in a group of girls who have a part that we will sing over the choir on this part, but I still think it is creepy.

Last night it rained for the first time in a long time. I love the sound of rain. Last week I was supposed to turn in some mapwork for my history class but it fell out of my notebook before I put it in my bag and so mom had to ask that it not be counted as late work. I would have turned it in myself today but my teacher has sensitivity to illnesses so I had to send it with dad. Next week is the last day that my teacher will be there, she is going to be out the last few weeks so I need to be well next Monday for her last instructions.

Rain

Why does it always rain on Wednesday? It rained last Wednesday and today (Wednesday) it is raining again. I don't mind the rain, in fact, I love listening to the rain but up here when it rains, it storms with thunder and lightning so if it's night, Libba has to get into my bed and that is annoying (I only have a twin size)!

Ah! Only two more weeks, one more project and one more test and Oklahoma History is done! We finished our textbook last week and that was exciting, soon we'll be done with the whole class! I am very excited.

Choir has been frustrating lately. I don't want to quit simply because it constitutes about a third of my social life! But, at the same time, it is driving me nuts! Mainly it is the choir director that frustrates me, but several of the people are quite obnoxious. But, I also like a lot of the people and have some good friends in the Choir. Well, you can't expect something to be perfect, but the choir is a ways off from being perfect. But, I really enjoy the devotionals we have on Tuesdays.

Okay, this has been a dis-jointed post. I think your idea, Jc, about the drop-down menu thingys was good. Well, back to doing useful things, like school. Farewell!

Friday, February 22, 2008

Well well, I am finally back from a few weeks absence. I would have posted sooner but I have been busy with a project and then last Tuesday I got sick with the flu or something like it. I am still not completely well but I am much better then I was. To reply to what you said in your comment Specter, I know that it is not uncommon for guys to be able to sing that high but I have not heard many sing that well that high. Now, how did I get the pictures to overlap? Good ol' Paint. I picked a background color, got it close to the right size and then cut and pasted the pictures in. Then I simply uploaded it to my blog. Well, I did tweak the pictures a little bit. ;)

So, life has been no fun this past week. On Monday morning my Oklahoma History teacher hit some ice on her way to class and had to go to the emergency room. Thankfully nothing was broken, she was just banged up quite a bit. I also found out on Monday that next Monday we have a test to take that I thought wasn't for a few more weeks and I hadn't started studying for it. Wonderful. And I have been too sick to do much of anything. Oh well, I shall simply have to work extra hard today and over the weekend.

Well, I think I shall depart, so long!

Saturday, January 12, 2008

Well, I suppose it is time for another post. This last week has been somewhat busy. I have my next Oklahoma history project. I have to write nine mini essays and put them, along with some pictures and maps, into a "big book". I can put the essays in any order and decorate any way I want to! This is the most freedom I have had on an assignment for this class.

Yesterday nat had a friend over in the afternoon (another one joined them later on to spend the night) and we all played Twister with Libba. It was a lot of fun, but you never realize how difficult it can get until you play it. Grant, (Nat's friend) and I were the one's on the mat (phil did his best to knock us down) and we played for about 30 min and both our legs felt like jell-o afterwards.

One of Nat's friends has a sister my age and she had me over later that night to "a much quieter home". We had fun staying up late and sleeping in this morning. This morning I got a huge headache, I don't know what it's from, I don't think it's a lack of sleep but I could be wrong. Maybe I should go to bed and find out...

Happenings

Well hello! I am afraid that this will be another rambling post, I don't have anything huge to post about. This last week has been very slow, but at the same time I have gotten several things done. One of the most fun has been working on a stocking for Libba. We all have matching stockings that a lady made for us when us three oldest were born. The kids stockings all have an angel or shepherd beaded on them along with lambs and stars. They are very beautiful and we are making one for Libba and Phil. It is harder than it looks.

I also have been getting ready for my history class to start back. I am not looking forward to it. I have a ton of work ahead of me. Lots of big, strenuous projects ahead of me. I will be glad when I'm done with this class, although I know it is probably good for me.

Choir starts back on Tuesday, I'm looking forward to new music. I hope they have a lost and found from the concert, I left a few things in the dressing room. Leave it up to me to forget something in the dressing room!

Yesterday the yearbook committee had a meeting. We discussed and voted on a mascot and colors and a bible verse and, I must say, there were some, er, interesting ideas. Like neon yellow and pink. And a strange looking ninja guy. Well, hopefully we will end up with something reasonable.

Well, I think I'm done now, goodnight!

Crazieness and halloween

Yesterday was nuts. Almost as soon as I woke up I had to start working on my paper that was due in a matter of hours. Just like I didn't plan on working on my paper on Saturday, I didn't exactly plan on working on it the day it was due. It was all written, it just wasn't perfected or printed and the pictures weren't ready at all! As you can imagine, I was a little stressed and I think I aggravated mom by asking her to go faster (she was going slower then I would have liked). I spent the the whole morning working on it with mom and, thankfully we got it finished up! Yesterday was also yearbook picture-day and so that only added to the stress that was already there! However, I got the paper turned in, I was not late to class (although a few seconds later and I would have been) and Jc and I got our pictures made. Now, will my picture turns out good? Probably not, they never do.

So, tomorrow is halloween, that dreaded holiday. I used to think halloween was just where you put on a tu-tu and went to church to play games and get free candy. Now, I really don't like halloween at all. I really dislike trick-or-treating too, on both ends. I never liked knocking on peoples doors and asking for candy (I've only been once), and I never like opening the door to give people candy. Especially when it gets late and all the weird high-schoolers come out with their creepy costumes. Last Sunday my youth minister asked who was going trick-or-treating and if so, what their costume was going to be. One boy said he was going to be Ballerina-Man and wear a tu-tu with a cape! I don't think I would answer the door if I saw him standing on the front porch! If you want a good reason to dislike halloween, research its origins. They are not good at all.

Well, I need to get off now, have a happy week!

I suppose I should post again but I don't know what to post about......thinking......thinking... Well as jc said, we went to a yearbook meeting last Thursday. Yesterday was our church's fall festival and Libba of course wanted to go to that. So we all went down and I ended up working at the bake sale for an hour or so. After that I stood at the door and passed out bags of candy to everyone leaving (a very difficult job ;)

Today I have to finish writing my essay on the Cherokee Indians. I am not very far along in the writing so I certainly have my work cut out for me. So in light of that last sentence, I had better go!

Hapenings

I am in a good mood right now. I found out today from my history teacher that except for the paper I am currently working on I only have one more English comp. assignment till after Christmas! I am very excited about that. Today it is very cold and rainy. I forgot my jacket because I was almost late to class and almost froze because of it!

After a shopping trip I was talking to Nat and during the conversation he happened to look outside and see a skunk! It was waddling around in the grass, occasionally shaking off the rain. I have never seen a skunk so it was something new for me!

So last Thursday we were supposed to go on a retreat with our church over fall break (by the way, have you ever heard of fall break?). Unfortunately there weren't enough people so they just had a Friday lock-in. It was a lot of fun despite the fact that while we were playing Sardines in-a-can at 3 in the morning one of the collage kids was assigned to jump out at us on our way inside and when he did I was so scared that I screamed at the top of my lungs and punched him (he wasn't hurt)! Also one of the high school boys kept on jumping out at me and grabbing my ankle and locking me in dark rooms so that I was crying before long (I scare VERY easy) and even then he didn't stop! I was and still am very mad at him.

Well, I have some work to do for that paper I am working on so I must go!

More stuff and Tacos

So not much has really happened since I last posted. My grandparents came in yesterday from a trip to Hot Springs.

Yesterday I had my history class. It was quite funny when my teacher tried to start a tape and she didn't know what to do so she didn't plug the video player in and when she couldn't get the tape to go in she started saying the player ate her tape! I was trying not to laugh.

Today we had choir practice and a health meeting to go to. This year the choir is getting new dresses (for the girls) and last week we tried to vote but it was very unorganized and we didn't get anything done. This week, we got called down one by one to vote and so everybody got to pick the dress they wanted to vote for. The health meeting was for the state fair food booths. We had to go because we will be working the same taco stand we worked on the 4th of July to raise money for dresses and tour.

I have to get off now to help with dinner, so long!
