IDIOT SIGHTING :
We had to have the garage door repaired. The Sears repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a "large" enough motor on the opener. I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one Sears made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower. He shook his head and said, "Lady, you need a 1/4 horsepower." I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4. He said, "NO, it's not." Four is larger than two.."

We haven't used Sears repair since.

IDIOT SIGHTING :
I live in a semi rural area. We recently had a new neigh bor call the local township administrative office to request the removal of the DEER CROSSING sign on our road. The reason: "Too many deer are being hit by cars out here! I don't think this is a good place for them to be crossing anymore."

IDIOT SIGHTING IN FOOD SERVICE :
My daughter went to a local Taco Bell and ordered a taco. She asked the person behind the counter for "minimal lettuce." He said he was sorry, but they only had iceberg lettuce.

IDIOT SIGHTING :
At a good-bye luncheon for an old and dear coworker. She was leaving the company due to "downsizing." Our manager commented cheerfully, "This is fun. We should do this more often." Not another word was spoken. We all just looked at each other with that deer-in-the-headlights stare.

This was a lunch at Texas Instruments.

IDIOT SIGHTING
:
When my husband and I arrived at an automobile dealership to pick up our car, we were told the keys had been locked in it. We went to t he service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock the drivers side door. As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was unlocked. "Hey," I announced to the technician, "its open!" His reply, "I know. I already got that side."

This was at the Ford dealership in Canton , Mississippi

I got this in an e-mail from a friend. I think my favorite story is the last one, I got a good chuckle after reading it!

I suppose it is time for another post. Hmm, I think I have started out this way before.....Oh well. Lets see, I could talk about the weather, that got a lot of comments last time, but it would probably be pushing it. So I won't mention the fact that is was warm yesterday. On Friday we did a science experiment with yeast, it didn't exactly work though. It bubbled plenty but we were supposed to be able to see the yeast budding and growing but we really couldn't see anything.

I'm sort of out of ideas to post. Hmm. Not very much super interesting has been going on. We are selling "The Dollar Bar" (it is just a different flavored chocolate bars) to raise money for a choir tour that we are hoping to go on. I have not really enjoyed it but it makes a little money. I wish that the tour wasn't going to be so expensive but I know that it would be really fun to go with the choir.

This is very uninteresting.

I guess that I should end before I say something really boring.

Is it just me, or does anyone else have trouble coming up with a title for posts? I never can come up with one until the post is written.

Anyways, our Grandparents flew in today for a visit. We had a very belated Christmas and all got lots of very nice presents. I got a camera and I absolutely love it! I have wanted a camera for a long time and I am very excited to figure it out. I immediately started taking pictures, of course (I took 53 in about an hour or so).

We all had fun. On Monday my Grandparents are flying home and Dad is flying to New Orleans for a church conference of some sort. I don't know what it is for but it isn't a music conference. He will be gone the whole week.

It finally got cold again up here, it actually feels like winter again! It is especially cold at night. We got a light snow the other day. I still am not used to cold winters, it seems like it should be raining instead of snowing.

Well, I can't think of anything else of the slightest interest or value to people besides myself to say, so I shall depart!

I forgot, happy birthday Katelynn! I hope you have a fun birthday!

Well, I suppose it is time for another post. This last week has been somewhat busy. I have my next Oklahoma history project. I have to write nine mini essays and put them, along with some pictures and maps, into a "big book". I can put the essays in any order and decorate any way I want to! This is the most freedom I have had on an assignment for this class.

Yesterday nat had a friend over in the afternoon (another one joined them later on to spend the night) and we all played Twister with Libba. It was a lot of fun, but you never realize how difficult it can get until you play it. Grant, (Nat's friend) and I were the one's on the mat (phil did his best to knock us down) and we played for about 30 min and both our legs felt like jell-o afterwards.

One of Nat's friends has a sister my age and she had me over later that night to "a much quieter home". We had fun staying up late and sleeping in this morning. This morning I got a huge headache, I don't know what it's from, I don't think it's a lack of sleep but I could be wrong. Maybe I should go to bed and find out...

Happenings

Well hello! I am afraid that this will be another rambling post, I don't have anything huge to post about. This last week has been very slow, but at the same time I have gotten several things done. One of the most fun has been working on a stocking for Libba. We all have matching stockings that a lady made for us when us three oldest were born. The kids stockings all have an angel or shepherd beaded on them along with lambs and stars. They are very beautiful and we are making one for Libba and Phil. It is harder than it looks.

I also have been getting ready for my history class to start back. I am not looking forward to it. I have a ton of work ahead of me. Lots of big, strenuous projects ahead of me. I will be glad when I'm done with this class, although I know it is probably good for me.

Choir starts back on Tuesday, I'm looking forward to new music. I hope they have a lost and found from the concert, I left a few things in the dressing room. Leave it up to me to forget something in the dressing room!

Yesterday the yearbook committee had a meeting. We discussed and voted on a mascot and colors and a bible verse and, I must say, there were some, er, interesting ideas. Like neon yellow and pink. And a strange looking ninja guy. Well, hopefully we will end up with something reasonable.

Well, I think I'm done now, goodnight!

Diamond Ring

I have an interesting story to tell. About two and a half (or maybe only two and a third) weeks ago Mom was at church rehearsing the Christmas musical when she noticed that the diamond from her wedding ring was gone. She called home and asked us to look for it. Now, her diamond is only like, a 5th of a centimeter long. So the search was pretty much hopeless. However, I looked all over just on the slim chance of finding it, but none of us did. After a day the search was basically hopeless and we knew that we wouldn't ever find it.

Monday, we did laundry. Fun chore. Well, Mom had just finished putting in a load of clothes when she noticed something sparkely on the inside rim of the washer and found what looked like a small rhinestone. You'll never guess what it was. That's right, Mom's diamond. How in the world that tiny little stone didn't get washed down the drain is beyond me! It really is a miracle that she found it, there was no possible chance it would found under normal circumstances, but found it is.

Okay, that was my little story of the day. Happy 2008!

It will probably be 2009 before I get used to writing 2008 and then I will have to get used to writing 2009 and it will probably take just as long to get used to...
